We are looking for a proactive Emerging Talent Partner to lead the in-life development of our graduate and apprenticeship populations. This role is critical in ensuring a high-quality experience from onboarding through to programme completion, supporting early careers talent to thrive and grow with us. You’ll also partner closely with our Talent Acquisition team to support recruitment campaigns, and manage the effective use of the Apprenticeship Levy to maximize impact across the business.

Role overview:

 

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for: 

 

In-Life Development & Programme Management

  • Own the delivery and continuous improvement of our graduate and apprenticeship programmes, ensuring alignment to business needs and talent strategy.
  • Act as the main point of contact for emerging talent, line managers, and mentors throughout the lifecycle of the programme.
  • Design and facilitate learning interventions, development pathways, and engagement initiatives to support progression and retention.
  • Track progress, performance, and wellbeing of programme participants, and intervene with targeted support where needed.
  • Build a strong alumni culture to maintain long-term engagement and talent pipelines.

 

Recruitment & Employer Brand

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to plan and deliver emerging talent recruitment campaigns, including graduate schemes, apprenticeships, and work experience initiatives.
  • Contribute to attraction strategies, including university engagement, school outreach, events, and digital content.
  • Help embed inclusive recruitment practices to attract diverse, high-potential candidates.

 

Apprenticeship Levy Management

  • Oversee effective utilisation of the Apprenticeship Levy to support strategic workforce planning and individual development.
  • Manage relationships with training providers, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Monitor levy usage and reporting, identifying opportunities to optimise spend across functions.
  • Provide guidance to business units on apprenticeship standards, funding rules, and programme suitability.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with the wider People team, business leaders and external partners.
  • Influence and advise stakeholders on best practice in early careers development.
  • Represent the business in external forums and partnerships as required.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  • Strong understanding of emerging talent lifecycle for graduates and apprentices
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with universities, colleges, and internal teams.
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives and deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset to interpret data and optimize strategies.
  • Creative approach to employer branding and candidate engagement.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across different levels of the business, from store managers to senior leadership.
