With different backgrounds, experiences, ethnicities, sexualities and genders, our strength comes from that diversity. Inclusion and diversity is championed, shaped and driven by our managers and the Leadership Inclusion Forum, which meets regularly to discuss ways to take action and shape change

    Every voice has a space at our table and we encourage colleagues to engage with important conversations about what matters to them and learn more about diversity. We celebrate our diversity through regular calendar events like Black History Month, National Inclusion Week and International Women's Day. And our employee-led groups, Pride at Currys, Women's Network, Disability at Currys and Embrace, play an important role to help foster an inclusive workplace.

    As a 'Disability Confident Employer’, we’re active members of the Business Disability Forum and are committed to improving our work environment so it’s accessible to all. We also invest in partnerships with organisations including everywoman, Business in the Community, myGwork and Be Inspired.

    Working in close collaboration with our National Forum colleagues across the UK, we’ve created new policies to help everyone feel that they belong here. This includes IVF Support, Premature Birth Support, Pregnancy Loss Support, Gender Reassignment Support and Menopause Support.

  • Gender pay gap.

    We know there's work to do to fix gender pay, that's why we welcomed the 2018 Legislation that requires employers to publish their Gender Pay Gap. Our pay gap is significantly below the national average, but we want to close it even further. To help us do this, we're reviewing and updating how we attract, recruit and develop our people through our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

This includes charity bike rides and online fitness classes. And because we can all use a little help to manage our money, we also offer a variety of ways to help you save – from our Cycle to Work scheme, to healthcare discounts.

We've made huge investments in Mental Health First Aid training, skilling up 1,000 colleagues to become Mental Health First Aiders and Mental Health Champions. And our Wellbeing Corner is full of resources and tips to stay well. The Aviva Wellbeing and Champion Health apps are available to all Currys colleagues too, as is a 24-hour confidential helpline through our Employee Assistance programme.

Being a responsible business is non-negotiable for us. We’re leading the way and helping our customers extend the life of their tech. And we’re constantly adapting the way we work to reduce our environmental impact and helping get tech into the hands of the people that need it the most.

We know our customers are looking to reduce their impact on the environment, and it’s our job to make that easier. Join us on our mission to reduce waste and divert tech away from landfill. Here’s what we did last year:

    We’re a founding member of the Digital Poverty Alliance – an initiative born to tackle the digital divide – whose aim is to end digital poverty in the UK by 2030. We donated £1 million to fund their start-up phase. We’re working with them to drive long-term change and support those in digital need in the short-term. We've helped over 1,500 families to receive a much needed device through our Tech4Families programme.

We already procure renewable energy for all our UK properties and the wheels are in motion to move our vehicle fleet to run on electric or alternative fuels. And we’re working with suppliers and manufacturers to reduce the environmental impact of the tech we sell.
