You'll join our Employee Relations team, reporting to the Senior ER Operations & Improvement Manager. We're the trusted advisors the business turns to when workplace matters become complex. From grievances and disciplinary cases to tribunal representation, we handle the cases that demand real expertise and careful judgment. We're a collaborative, supportive team that learns together, values doing things right, and genuinely cares about supporting both managers and colleagues through challenging situations.

 

You'll become a go-to ER resource, working closely with People Business Partners and line managers across Currys to provide expert guidance and strategic support. You'll partner with our Legal team on cases requiring legal input or tribunal preparation, bringing together different perspectives to achieve the best outcomes. You'll also contribute to our continuous improvement culture by sharing insights and learnings with fellow ER Specialists and the wider ER team - helping us all raise our standards and develop our expertise.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex and high-risk ER cases - providing managers and HR colleagues with expert, risk-aware advice that helps them navigate difficult situations with confidence
  • Support our triage framework - by conducting initial case assessments and routing each case to the right place, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
  • Manage our compliance data - from Right to Work and sponsorship tracking to supporting data subject requests and reviewing cases for auto-closure, keeping our ER function compliant and organised
  • Help prepare Employment Tribunal cases - alongside the Complex Case Manager and Legal team, drawing on your expertise to build strong cases
  • Spot patterns across your caseload- and share your learnings with the wider ER team, helping us all improve and work smarter
  • Feed back on the quality of our outsourced service provider - championing continuous improvement in how they support us
  • Build strong working relationships - with People Business Partners, ensuring support feels joined up across the business
  • Coach managers - through their cases and run debriefs that help them handle similar issues better next time, multiplying your impact
  • Handle the day-to-day - administrative tasks that keep our ER service running smoothly.

 

 

You will need:

  • Solid ER technical experience with strong working knowledge of UK employment law & tribunal procedure
  • Hands-on experience advising across the full range of ER case types
  • Confident communication that helps you advise and challenge managers at any level
  • Sharp attention to detail and case management skills that keep things clear, on track and compliant on high-priority work
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines on a busy caseload
  • Trusted partner credentials, building strong relationships across the People team and the wider business
  • Sound judgement when managing sensitive or complex cases, knowing when to escalate and proactively seeking guidance or support
  • A team-oriented approach that actively shapes ER strategy, capability and ways of working
  • Hands-on experience managing complex ER cases through formal processes
  • Based in or able to travel to our London Waterloo Campus on a hybrid basis
