Assistant Category Manager - Connected Mobile
London
Currys London Campus at Waterloo / Hybrid Working
Permanent
Full Time
Grade 3

At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.

As an Assistant Category Manager for Connected Mobile, you'll play a key role in one of Currys' most dynamic and unique categories, bringing together the needs of both mobile handset manufacturers and network partners to deliver compelling propositions for our customers. You'll be responsible for ensuring our customer offers are available across the right sales channels, accurately priced, and ready to go to market. You'll also help shape how these offers are communicated by briefing teams across the business on the latest propositions, pricing, and customer-facing activity.

Success in this role requires a highly collaborative approach, as you'll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Partnering with teams including Handset Buying, Networks, Central Planning, Go To Market, Online, Services, Credit, Finance, Retail, and colleagues at Currys Loughborough Campus (CLC), you'll help drive the continued growth and evolution of the Mobile category.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Owning the communication and optimisation of supplier investment, ensuring funding opportunities are effectively shared across the business, pricing decisions align with company policies, and performance is measured against relevant commercial and CPI metrics.
  • Collaborating with Handset and Accessories Buying teams to develop compelling, supplier-funded propositions that drive sales performance and deliver value across all customer channels.
  • Analysing customer and commercial data to identify renewal opportunities, recommending targeted propositions that encourage customers to re-contract, while securing manufacturer investment to support these initiatives.
  • Leading the proposition briefing process, ensuring key offers are communicated effectively to stakeholders and working closely with the Go To Market team to maximise visibility across customer-facing marketing and promotional activity.
  • Supporting strategic relationships with leading manufacturers and network partners, helping to negotiate and deliver high-value funded initiatives across all channels, including sponsored marketing campaigns, in-store fixtures, and broader customer engagement activities.

You will need:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret commercial data, identify trends and make recommendations that support business performance.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including confidence using formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets to analyse performance, track pricing, and support decision-making.
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail, with an understanding of how pricing, promotions, and customer propositions can influence sales and profitability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and confidently communicate recommendations to teams across the business.
  • Highly organised and proactive approach, able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate activity across a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

We know our people are the secret to our success. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to reward great work. You’ll find a host of benefits designed to work for you, including:
