Senior People Strategy Manager

Permanent

G5

Hybrid - London Waterloo

At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.

You’ll sit within the People, Communications and Sustainability function, reporting to the Group Talent, Leadership and Learning Director. We create and bring the People Plan to life – connecting people strategy to the wider business agenda and making sure the Chief People, Communication & Sustainability Officer (CPCSO) and People, Communication & Sustainability (PCS) team are set up to succeed. We’re a team that moves fast, thinks ahead, and takes real pride in the quality of what we do.

You’ll work with the People, Communication and Sustainability team and colleagues right across Currys – from the PCS leadership team to ExCo Business Managers and the Group Leadership Team. Partnering with PCS Business Change and project owners, you’ll make sure the People Plan stays on track and risks are spotted early. You’ll also build relationships with senior leaders across the business, helping them make good decisions and keeping everyone pulling in the same direction.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Connect the dots between the People Plan and the broader business strategy, making sure the CPCSO’s communications always reflect the wider organisational picture.
  • Lead the design and facilitation of PCS Leadership Team meetings, takeover days and events, taking ownership of agendas, content and follow-through on actions.
  • Coordinate the development of the 3-year People Plan – including the annual strategic review, priorities alignment and budgeting – making sure the right people and decisions come together at the right time.
  • Track People Plan progress throughout the year, holding stakeholders to account and making sure objectives are met and budgets used as planned.
  • Spot risks that could affect the CPCSO or PCS Leadership Team and resolve them before they become blockers.
  • Own end-to-end preparation for CPCSO significant engagements – from board reviews, CEO reports and companywide and external events, making sure every piece of material is well framed, accurate, clear and on time.
  • Build high-quality presentations and reports that turn complex, multi-strand activity into a compelling story for colleague, Executive, Board and external audiences.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CPCSO, providing content and challenge that supports effective prioritisation and sound decision-making.

You will need:

  • Exceptional written communication skills that turn complex information into clear, compelling narratives for a range of audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking that joins the dots across people, finance and business priorities.
  • A talent for orchestrating complex, multi-stakeholder plans and keeping everyone accountable for their part.
  • Confidence influencing and building trusted relationships at the most senior levels, including C-Suite.
  • Sharp analytical skills that make sense of both financial and non-financial data and turn them into clear recommendations.
  • A get-it-done attitude – comfortable working at pace, handling ambiguity and making sound calls when the full picture is still forming.
  • High levels of discretion, sound judgement and genuine emotional intelligence.
  • Experience working in a complex organisation with exposure across HR, strategy, finance, commercial or operations.
  • A proven background working with senior leaders, including C-Suite executives.
