The Procurement Manager role will drive transformation in technology procurement by developing and executing category strategies that deliver measurable value, optimise supplier partnerships, and enable business innovation. The role will lead sourcing for emerging technologies including AI, cloud infrastructure, and digital platforms while maintaining pace with rapidly evolving tech landscapes.

 

Role overview:

 

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Category Strategy & Sourcing- design and execute procurement strategies across technology spend including software licensing, cloud services, outsourcing, managed services, professional services, and digital transformation
  • Outsource Partner Governance - lead commercial and contractual oversight of outsource partner relationships, holding suppliers to delivery commitments, SLAs, and change control disciplines
  • Transformation Programme Support - Act as the key procurement interface for technology transformation programmes, partnering with internal stakeholders
  • Contract Negotiation - Negotiate complex, high-value technology contracts with clear SLAs & appropriate commercial models
  • Supplier Relationship Management - Build and maintain strategic relationships with key technology suppliers, acting as a trusted advisor on market trends, innovation opportunities, and supplier performance
  • Stakeholder Influence - Influence and challenge stakeholders at Head of Function level to optimise technology investments, drive consolidation and maintain commercial rigour.
  • Value Delivery & Reporting - Own the annual savings pipeline for the category, tracking and reporting spend analytics, KPIs, and benefits delivery to executive sponsors — using procurement systems to ensure compliance and visibility.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement - Champion adoption of AI and automation within procurement processes and supplier capabilities

 

 

You will need:

  • Proven track record managing large-scale technology contracts (£5m+) and delivering measurable cost savings
  • Experience sourcing across modern technology categories: SaaS, cloud platforms, outsourcing, managed services, or professional services
  • Demonstrated ability to work at pace in dynamic environments while managing multiple complex negotiations simultaneously
  • Strong commercial acumen with solid understanding of technology commercial models
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to craft commercially advantageous outcomes and influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial strategies and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Results driven & a confident influencer while building collaborative, trust-based relationships
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Degree educated or equivalent in relevant field
  • Professional Qualifications (MCIPS) desirable
