Are you passionate about organizing complex product data to create seamless digital experiences across global markets and diverse brands? As a PIM Data Taxonomist, you will own and evolve the taxonomy, data model, and hierarchy structures that power content discovery, digital merchandising, and product management across a multi-brand, multi-market ecosystem.

You will be a key player in building and governing structured product data frameworks that are both globally consistent and locally adaptable - supporting scalability, localization, and user-centric digital experiences. This role collaborates across content, product, data, and technology teams to ensure digital platforms are powered by clean, structured, and optimized product data.

Role overview:

  • Own, manage and design enterprise data model, product taxonomy, hierarchy, and attribute structures within the PIM system to support product discovery, categorization, search, and syndication across multiple brands and global markets.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, flexible data models that align with evolving digital, merchandising, and business needs.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards and taxonomy guidelines to ensure data consistency, quality, and usability across regions and platforms.
  • Collaborate with product, content, UX, and regional teams to ensure that taxonomy supports both centralized global strategies and localized content requirements.
  • Support product onboarding and SKU expansion efforts by defining clear classification frameworks and processes for data enrichment.
  • Lead or participate in data cleanup, normalization, and structuring initiatives to improve product information quality and platform performance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in taxonomy and structured data, providing documentation, training, and support for internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Work with DAM, CMS, and syndication tools to ensure product information is properly connected across all relevant digital channels.

Experience & Skills Needed:

  • Successfully implemented and governed taxonomy and hierarchy models across multiple digital platforms and product categories.
  • Delivered scalable solutions for managing structured product data in complex, high-SKU, multi-region environments.
  • Improved findability, data accuracy, and syndication success rates through refined data structures and governance.
  • Enabled faster product onboarding and streamlined processes through clearly defined taxonomy and data models.
  • Built strong cross-functional partnerships with brand, regional, and technical teams to ensure taxonomy serves business and user needs effectively.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in library & information science, Linguistics, Information Architecture, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in taxonomy development, metadata management, or structured content management in a multi-brand or multi-market environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with PIM systems (e.g., Akeneo, Bluestone, Informatica, Salsify, Stibo, or similar).
  • Proven experience in developing and governing product taxonomies, data hierarchies, and attribute models.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, structured content best practices, and digital product information workflows.
  • Experience with content localization, translation workflows, and regional data customization strategies is a plus.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume digital environments with competing priorities.
