We have an exciting opportunity, where we are looking for a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our team where you will be responsible for design, security, implementation and support of our enterprise technology platforms. The role of Infrastructure Specialist spans security, networking, Azure Cloud services, identity management and infrastructure design and review, with a strong emphasis on high-quality documentation. You will bring proven, strong technical experience of Infrastructure technologies including Microsoft Azure, EntraID, M365, D365, NetApp, NetBackup and Terraform.
You will support the design and solutioning of new services migrating and/or and will work closely with SREs, Software Engineers and Solution Architects to identify new opportunities for technology to help drive our business vision and be the technical owner of standards within the business.
Role overview:
You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the technical architecture across engineering and operations, and to support the overall technology vision
- Design and document end‑to‑end infrastructure solutions across on‑premises and cloud environments.
- Deploy and configure infrastructure components including compute, storage, networking, identity services and modern workplace.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure alignment with best practices, security requirements, and operational readiness and working with key technology stakeholders.
- Implement identity and access controls using EntraID, Conditional Access, MFA, Active Directory.
- Working closely with the Cloud Tech Lead, own the technical FinOps processes ensuring modern platforms are cost optimized and waste is minimized.
- Act as a senior technical SME escalation point for business-critical incidents
Recquired Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering (cloud and on‑prem)
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure and M365 services and architecture.
- Proven experience of designing Infrastructure platforms, including technical architecture, effort and cost estimation, planning, non-functional requirements, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities using modern agile techniques
- Monitoring experience using cloud native tools such as New Relic, PagerDuty, Azure Log Analytics
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls), Azure networking experience would be highly beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices including Hands‑on experience with identity platforms, especially EntraID.
- Experience of developing training and team development plans to drive performance across multi-skilled teams
- Solid understanding of security principles, frameworks, and best practices
- Being able to react to escalation during critical operational incidents, and act as a subject matter expert and support root cause analysis
- Ability to produce high‑quality documentation in Confluence
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Qualifications:
- Microsoft qualifications are an advantage
- Experience in developing IT and cloud infrastructure
- Experience in software engineering and design architecture
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent subject
- Experience in implementing Infrastructure projects
- Professional qualifications in technical Cyber Security an advantage.
