The purpose of the development team is to identify & deliver key initiatives to grow the Services E2E business. As a Development Manager, you will use customer, colleague, competitor & commercial insights to deliver initiatives to drive services growth. These initiatives could range from designing & launching new service propositions, developing and improving our customer journeys, or working on improving our operating model and designing processes to create cost efficiencies.

The role is ideal for someone who has great project management skills, is highly collaborative, and can build strong cross-functional relationships to enable successful delivery of new initiatives. You will be part of a hard-working team, have high levels of energy, drive and commitment to deliver tangible results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Services growth strategy & development roadmap
  • Leverage various data sources (including briefing customer insights, competitor insight, colleague insight, commercial data & future trends) to scope & size initiatives to drive future growth. You will support the team in making recommendations on those initiatives, based on opportunities, cost and complexity to delivery, and provide justification for further investment
  • Support the design of new propositions of your specifically owned initiatives including: conducting high level proposition feasibility and appeal, define product/proposition/initiative feature and price strategy and secure sign off from key stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of new initiatives. You will be the key point of contact at project level responsible for the co-ordination of all proposition development activities, bringing together business teams and channels
  • Support the business readiness & launch of new initiatives: collaborating with the other functions within Currys, (including but not limited to Commercial, Marketing, Stores, Online, SC&SO) and support with development and delivery of the customer journeys, training, marketing, and merchandising
  • Work closely with our stakeholders, including the technology team, to effectively monitor delivery progress, risks and issues, and identify suitable resolutions and escalations. Ensure key stakeholders, including the SLT are kept up to date on the progress of Services development. Monitor the success of proposition, and agree implementation and handover approach


Required Skills & Experience:

  • You are customer focused - You put customers first, seek to understand what works for them and champion them in your decision making to develop propositions they love
  • You are highly collaborative in approach, able to build strong cross functional relationships
  • Resilient and able to focus when faced with complex, ambiguous, or changing priorities
  • You’ll have good planning, organizational & multitasking skills
  • Good PowerPoint, excel & Word skills


Desirable:

  • Experience developing and launching new products, propositions or categories
  • Experience of creating business cases or commercial plans
  • Experience in a change management role, leading and implementing change management initiatives
