We are looking for an ambitious Buyer who has the drive and dedication to deliver on one of our most exciting categories here in Currys. This role involves working with many different brands such as DeLonghi, Philips, Bosch and Sage, and helping us deliver our ambitious growth plans and to ensure we maintain our strength in this area. Small Kitchen Appliances covers everything from kettles and toasters to state-of-the-art coffee machines and we need you to help grow our categories in these markets across our market leading omnichannel platform.

You will work cross functionally with both internal and external stake holders and know your category inside out, being the go-to person for anything SKA. This role would suit someone who likes to take ownership and thrives in a fast-paced setting. You will work directly with the Senior Buyer to help shape the future of this category and win in the big growth areas.

As a Buyer, you will be expected to support the development of an Assistant Buyer ensuring we have a capable and committed team, who understand their role in delivering the company vision ‘we help everyone enjoy amazing technology.’

Key Responsibilites:

• Managing all category supplier relationships in line with our overall commercial supplier strategy and the category strategy
• Harness credible relationships with our suppliers and develop a sourcing strategy to both bring customers the best ranges
• Work with suppliers to develop a strong understanding of the future technology roadmap
• Negotiating product ranges, terms & funding
• Pricing the product range in line with agreed category CPI targets
• Remedy all supplier issues relating to cost price, product, stock, financial claims, contractual issues and other
• Develop capable and committed colleagues who are fully aware of the company vision and the role they play in delivering it

Required Skills & Experience:

• ​Buying experience working within a FMCG/Fashion or Hard Goods fast paced retailer
• Negotiation skills and ability to manage all supplier partnerships
• Good judgment and strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit and cash
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, capable of presenting to senior stakeholders
• Good working knowledge of MS Office & workflow tools
• Monitor internal controls and make recommendations as needed
• Coordinate teams, and train and identify training requirements
• Experience of both the Electricals market and products
