We’re looking for a Senior Motor Risk Assessor to join our Logistics Motor Risk team; a specialist group dedicated to keeping our commercial drivers, vehicles, and operations safe and efficient. In this role, you’ll lead and support a team of Motor Risk Assessors, using your expertise to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across our network.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing Motor Risk Assessors to build capability and confidence.
  • Conducting and overseeing Motor Risk Assessments in line with DVSA standards.
  • Promoting safe driving behaviours through coaching, education, and practical support.
  • Supporting driver inductions and creating clear, actionable development plans.
  • Monitoring tachograph and telematics data to identify trends and address risks.
  • Investigating incidents and recommending preventative actions.
  • Analysing driver KPIs and site data to improve standards and reduce operational risk.
  • Building collaborative relationships across teams to embed a safety-first culture.
  • Producing and sharing high-quality insights to support decision-making.
  • Contributing to the development of future-fit motor risk strategies aligned with best practice.

 

You will need:

  • Experience in a leadership, coaching, or mentoring role.
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively across multiple locations.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of tachograph regulations and driver compliance.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and developing improvement plans.
  • A proactive approach to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-led decision-making.
  • Excellent time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

 

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement.
  • 5+ years of commercial vehicle driving experience.
  • Valid Driver CPC.
  • Driver Assessor trained (or equivalent).
  • RoSPA Gold standard in Advanced Driving Techniques.
  • Level 4 RoSPA in Driver Behaviour (desirable).
