At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.
Right now, we’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Supply Chain & Services Operations Transformation team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid project delivery experience who enjoys bringing structure, pace and organisation to change. You’ll manage smaller projects and workstreams that help improve the way we operate, working closely with teams across the business to make sure change is delivered in a practical, well-managed way.
You’ll be part of a wider transformation team, so while you’ll take ownership of your own projects, you’ll also have the opportunity to work alongside more experienced project and programme colleagues on larger initiatives as your experience grows.
This role involves regular travel to our Newark Campus in Nottinghamshire and other sites across the UK typically 1-2 days per fortnight. All travel expenses will be fully covered.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of smaller projects and workstreams across Supply Chain and Services Operations.
- Creating and maintaining clear project plans, with a strong focus on milestones, actions, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Monitoring progress and keeping delivery on track, finding practical solutions to overcome barriers to success.
- Facilitating project and workstream meetings and making sure actions are followed through.
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across operational and support teams.
- Supporting the development of business cases, governance materials and project updates for stakeholder review.
- Tracking project costs and supporting benefits monitoring, making sure budgets and outcomes are reported clearly and accurately.
- Helping to identify and manage risks and issues early, escalating where needed and supporting teams to resolve them quickly.
- Supporting implementation, handover and project close-down activity, including lessons learned.
- Working with internal teams and, where needed, external partners to support successful delivery.
You will need:
- Experience of delivering projects or workstreams in a fast-paced business environment.
- Strong planning and organisational skills for project delivery.
- Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work confidently across different teams and levels of the business.
- Experience of managing risks and issues, with a practical approach to problem-solving and delivery.
- The ability to communicate clearly and keep people aligned and informed throughout delivery.
- A structured, organised and proactive approach, with the confidence to plan ahead, stay focused and overcome obstacles.
- Experience of process improvement, workflow changes or supporting operational change activity.
- Knowledge of project management tools, governance and delivery principles.
- A project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or similar would be beneficial.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience working in Supply Chain, Services Operations, Retail, Logistics or another fast-paced customer-focused environment.
- Experience working across multiple functions to coordinate activity and keep delivery moving.
- An interest in transformation and continuous improvement, with a desire to build your experience in a wider programme environment.
