The future. You own it. The future. You own it. The future. You own it.

A future
powered
by you.

Join our Technology & Transformation programmes.

Tech sits behind every part of our business. And as we continue to lead the way as an omni-channel retailer, there’s never been a more exciting time to join our Technology & Transformation team. Our scale and ambition mean you’ll have space to experiment together with the freedom and support to explore your passion.

And, as one of only a select few Graduates we take on each year, your work won’t be lost in the noise, it will be seen, felt, recognised, not only shaping the experience our customers have today but influencing the future of our entire business.

We offer three programmes in this area, each is three years long.

  • Technology.

A deep dive into strategy, enterprise architecture, engineering and operations – giving you insight into how our tech foundations are built and run.

  • AI & Monetisation.

AI and the data platforms beneath it are reshaping retail. In AIM you'll work on the systems doing that reshaping: pricing algorithms responding to market shifts, forecasting models preventing stock-outs, sentiment analysis flagging customer issues early. This is real, live, AI capability, running across stores, online, contact centres and distribution – handling millions of transactions daily.

You'll build infrastructure on Databricks, deploy workers that automate legal and procurement decisions, and create analytics tools that put smart data in front of colleagues who need it. Fast-moving tech. Real-world impact. A £10bn business to shape. Jump in.

Whichever path you choose, you’ll have access to teaching resources to help bolster your knowledge. So, when you roll off the programme and into your specialist role, you’ll be on an accelerated career path.

What to expect.

You’ll start with three six-month rotations across different areas of your programme, giving you a strong grounding in that area. After that you’ll start to specialise, firstly with another six-month rotation, then finally, in year three, you’ll spend 12 months building a real depth of expertise in a specialism that suits you best.

These are some of the areas you’ll cover within the different pathways.

Technology.

+

  • Understanding key Solution Architecture projects and engineering delivery processes.
  • Learning about Architectural frameworks and best practices.
  • Exploring DevOps/Cloud, Infrastructure and Service Delivery.

AI & Monetisation.

+

  • Building full-stack prototypes using AI coding tools like Cursor and Codex – moving from concept to working demo quickly.
  • Developing AI agents that handle real work: answering customer queries, processing procurement requests, analysing sentiment from thousands of reviews. Reliable enough for production and safe enough that we can explain what they're doing.
  • Creating reusable components on our Databricks platform that other teams can deploy – prompt stores, orchestration frameworks, monitoring tools. You'll work with models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Writer, figuring out which fits which job.
  • Building optimisation systems that set prices, forecast demand and recommend products to customers. The maths matters here – small improvements at our scale mean millions in revenue or cost savings.

Transformation.

+

  • Exploring business analysis – performing discrete analysis using a range of techniques.
  • Supporting the Project Management team in delivering internal programmes.
  • Exploring key Change Management activities.

And you won’t just be learning technical skills, our programmes also cover resilience, high performance, communication, leadership and other key skills to give you the confidence and capability to build your career.

Who we’re looking for.

  • Our programmes are for people who are inquisitive, passionate about our business, our customers and our technology, and ready to shape our future. You’ll need a 2:1 degree (minimum) and, if you’re targeting our AI & Monetisation or Technology programmes, then your degree should be in a relevant technology or technical subject.

If you’re the kind of person who loves to ask questions, welcomes feedback and has a positive attitude, you’ll fit right in. Our team of Graduates is a close, collaborative group where colleagues share ideas and support each other.
