To act as a trusted partner to the business, leading end-to-end commercial activities within the category. You’ll drive sourcing strategies that deliver value, build strong supplier relationships, and secure the best outcomes through effective negotiation and contracting. By supporting both Procurement and IT transformation, you’ll enable innovation, optimise budgets, reduce risk, and make it easier and faster for colleagues and partners to do business with us.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Collaboration with senior stakeholders to drive maximum value from 3rd party suppliers:
- Identify and then execute a pipeline of savings opportunities across the category.
- Define the long-term relationship strategy with key Technology and IT partners, ensuring they become enablers of our strategic goals.
- Develop, deliver, and manage effective sourcing strategies in support of the business transformation and wider change agenda, ensuring ongoing value for money and the delivery of innovative procurement solutions to Currys.
- Negotiate and contract for clear and certain delivery and commercial outcomes.
- Deliver on annual cost saving targets against budgets in IT and across the wider group.
- Support category reporting, savings tracking, and spend data tracking.
You will need:
- Strong category background and 5 years’ proven experience in a hands on sourcing role of a FTSE 100/250 Procurement function
- Experience in the negotiation of deals with large Software houses
- Ability to motivate, organise and manage self to deliver to challenging deadlines
- Experience of managing long term, complex, high value, high risk contracts
- Experience in providing commercial and procurement workstream leadership in complex technology transformation programs
- Strong networking and stakeholder management/influencing skills at senior and executive level.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentational skills, able to communicate complex, commercial information to non-commercial stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong negotiation skills, demonstrable experience in successfully developing and executing negotiating strategies, coupled with the ability to ‘sell’ the approach amongst internal stakeholders
- Strong contract negotiation skills and ability to create associated schedules of legal agreements
- Proven ability to deliver substantial cost saving and service benefits.
- Degree Educated
- Professional Qualifications (MCIPS) desirable
