As the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and transforming accounting processes within the organisation and act as a key specialist in the Accounting and Control team.

You will take overall responsibility for managing Order to Cash (OTC) activity with Infosys, supplier funding accounting, debt monitoring, and ensuring visibility and maintaining key accounting controls. This will include analysing AP/AR ageing, assessing financial control risks, and leading AI continuous improvement initiatives. You will have significant interaction with the RTR function and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee OTC activity with Infosys and transformation initiatives: Coordinate and manage the Order-to-Cash processes with Infosys, ensuring seamless integration and transformation to optimise efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage supplier funding accounting and debt monitoring: Ensure accurate accounting of supplier funding and monitor outstanding debts, implementing strategies to improve account visibility and clean-up. This will be from an overall balance sheet perspective – to enable consistency across reporting and monitoring across this area
  • Conduct AP/AR ageing analysis, focusing on GRNI: Analyse the ageing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable balances, with a particular focus on Goods Received Not Invoiced, to optimise cash flow and reduce discrepancies
  • Assess financial control risks within the RTR function: Evaluate and mitigate potential financial control risks within the Record-to-Report function to safeguard against issues and ensure compliance
  • Conduct quarterly balance sheet reviews with Infosys: Collaborate with Infosys to perform detailed quarterly reviews of the balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and identifying areas for improvement
  • Review and own judgemental provisions for stock, bad debt, and network debtors: Take ownership of reviewing and managing provisions related to stock, bad debt, and network debtors, ensuring accurate reporting and risk management
  • Oversee IT risk management within accounting and RTR teams: Manage IT-related risks within the accounting and RTR teams, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues promptly
  • Lead AI continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes: Drive initiatives to continuously improve accounting processes using AI technologies, enhancing efficiency and accuracy across the department


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong Accounting and control expertise: Able to apply expertise to accounting process and review procedures
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Able to communicate with senior stakeholders to articulate complex messages in a compelling manner via all means of communication
  • Effective Stakeholder Management: Able to manage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Advanced Problem Solving: Able to analyse and understand complex issues to facilitate recommendations on optimal solutions. Especially AI use cases and ability to identify tasks that can been streamlined
  • Results Focused: Track record of delivering end to end solutions in a planned and controlled manner
  • Retail and Commercial Experience: Experience of fast-moving or retail environments
  • Systems: Good working knowledge of SAP, Blackline, and HFM preferable
  • Strong Audit Background: Preferably candidates from audit background or experience dealing with audits
  • Recognised Accountancy Qualification: ACA, CIMA or ACCA
  • PQE: Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Accountant in a large, complex business. Senior professionals with an external audit background highly sought
