 As a member of Credit’s Senior Leadership Team, you’ll actively manage our credit customer portfolio, to maximise Credit profitability for Currys

 

As the Credit P&L owner, you’ll obsess about the data, working forensically to unlock commercial value. You’ll design, deliver, and then operate levers such as e2e funnel conversion, underwriting enhancement, pricing, cut off and credit limit management, and developing an existing customer management capability.

You’ll also define, advocate for and drive delivery of improvements to our commercial model, ranging from conditional offers capability, through to improved supplier funding economics, or commercial terms with our banking partner. You’ll measure your success through growing total profit from Credit; both direct profit, and embedded profit

Role overview:

 

You will:

  • As Credit P&L owner, take full accountability for sustainable delivery of a material eight figure profit contribution to Currys group
  • Run the design and delivery of improvements to the end-to-end credit application funnel, including working with banking partner to enhance credit underwriting, and decisioning toolkit
  • Lead on first and re-use cut off strategies, and dynamic credit line management, to improve utilisation, control bad debt, and maximise profit
  • Define strategy for promotional credit offers, including working with leading tech brands, to deliver rich offers to customers but still generate an economic return
  • Design and deliver a segmented existing customer management strategy, growing line utilisation, to increase credit adoption and profitability
  • Define, advocate for and drive delivery of improvements to our commercial model, ranging from conditional offers capability, through to improved supplier funding economics
  • Partnering with finance, develop and operationalise ability to manage not just the direct income stream with our external partners, but the contribution incremental sales enabled by credit make to the end to end P&L
  • Oversee all financial forecasting, modelling and budget processes for Credit
  • Develop and coach direct and extended virtual team, ensuring Credit remains a great place to work

 

 

You will need:

  • Experience of managing and optimising a regulated consumer credit P&L and credit portfolio, pulling multiple levers to maximise returns, is essential
  • Strong personal values and conduct mindset, and understanding of regulatory constraints within which consumer credit operates, is essential
  • Experience, strong domain knowledge, and ability to work at a detailed level on profit levers including risk based pricing, credit limit management, cut off optimisation, underwriting strategy, and existing customer management
  • Track record of building exceptional relationships within a matrixed organisation, including with our banking partners, and use these to deliver improvements for Credit
  • Ability to take complex lending concepts and communicate them simply, to audiences at all levels, from the board to frontline colleagues
  • Creative thinker, with a track record of challenging status quo, and identifying new opportunities to unlock commercial value
  • A proven leader, with the ability to motivate and secure buy in across a highly matrixed organisation, and to develop and coach a direct team to deliver outstanding results
