Senior Project Manager

One of the key strategic pillars for Currys is Responsible Credit. Credit appeals to customers as technology is exciting but expensive, and credit makes it more affordable by allowing them to spread the cost. 


In this role you will work closely with the business, product and engineering functions to deliver high quality, scalable Products which will be deployed across the Currys Omni channel model with efficient use of resources and technologies. The role will establish the delivery team, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed and create plans to ensure timely completion by meeting the milestones outlined and agreed.  You will also assess risks, anticipate roadblocks, provide escalation management, make priority decisions, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behaviours to maximise business benefit.  Working alongside the Programme Manager / Director and you will be key to deliver the governance structure required and to report upwards into the Steering committee.



Key responsibilities:


  • Overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects / product implementations with significant bottom line impact
  • Support translation of business strategy into product strategy
  • Supporting the creation of the product roadmap and getting buy in from key stakeholders and provide compelling capabilities to increase Currys market share and Business
  • Project management - prioritisation, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments / dependencies
  • Manages programme risks and issues and cross functional dependencies to ensure successful delivery of the programme
  • Work in collaboration with project sponsors and key stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the delivery of project outcomes
  • Drive complex cross-functional change into the organisation through the application of ‘best in class’ project, programme and change management in a sustainable way
  • Establish and sustain an effective governance framework to ensure the appropriate level of oversight and control is in place across their projects
  • Implementing and landing cross functional change within the organisation
  • Co-ordinate the definition and delivery of detailed business requirements through collaboration with the business, IT and other 3rd parties



Skills/Experience required:


  • Retail, Credit and Finance industry experience preferred
  • Experience of performing a similar role within a major FTSE 100 organisation or comparably complex, fast-moving organisation, or has experience of delivering the requirements of this role across multiple clients
  • Experience in product led delivery and an appreciation of the customer
  • Business Transformation experience in complex, cross functional environments
  • Expert knowledge and experience of relevant project management methodologies and development life cycles
  • Extremely strong organisational skills in manging multiple teams in order to deal with issues/risks/defects/deliverables/design queries
  • Experience in software product engineering, deployment, strategic and analytical thinking
