As the Senior Commercial Manager responsible for a major Network partner, you’ll play a vital role in bringing everything together around the commercial deal with the mobile network operator. Reporting to the Head of UK Connectivity, you’ll need to make full use of your relationship building skills in order to negotiate the best possible commercial deals and to create win-win situations for us and the network.
With a strong background in negotiation and relationship building both internally and externally, you’ll set, document, and deliver joint strategic aims and share these regularly with the rest of the business.You will facilitate the maximisation of P&L and market share through leveraging all our collective network knowledge and relationships. As part of this you will lead on various projects and work streams while setting strategic aims and ensuring these are delivered.
The purpose of the UK Connectivity Team is to manage the end-to-end relationships with UK cellular providers to maximise the profitability of commercial agreements. The team is specifically accountable for the commercial agreements with UK networks and all network revenue which feeds into the P&L. The team should support the commercial proposition team to ensure Currys can deliver competitive propositions to market, whilst maximising the value of a customer. There is a wide integration with many areas of the business to achieve these aims, such as credit risk, retention, operations, finance and marketing. The team is also responsible to setting the connectivity strategy in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Partnership Lead
- Take full ownership of a high-value strategic network partnership, acting as the primary commercial lead and internal advocate to ensure delivery of shared business goals
- Establish and maintain strong, senior-level relationships with partner stakeholders to foster collaboration, influence decision-making, and align long-term strategic priorities
- Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations, including contract renewals, pricing frameworks, and incentive structures, ensuring commercially sound outcomes that drive profitability and mutual value
Network & Market Performance Insight
- Deliver monthly performance reviews by category, including future-facing forecasts
- Highlight performance against strategic KPIs (e.g. 5G rollout, churn reduction, ARPU uplift)
- Monitor market dynamics weekly/monthly, identifying emerging opportunities or threats
- Maintain visibility on outstanding financial claims and cash performance
Commercial Governance & Contract Management
- Maintain clear, concise summaries of all active contracts, including obligations and key dates
- Monitor and report on commercial KPIs, risks, triggers, and remedies
- Own the accuracy and relevance of pricing tools and commercial models
- Drive quarterly provision reviews to optimise cost-effectiveness and profitability
Financial Acumen & Revenue Growth
- Understand and interpret partner financial performance to influence strategy
- Identify and deliver incremental revenue opportunities through targeted initiatives and commercial levers
Required Skills & Experience:
- Advanced negotiation expertise, with a proven track record of leading high-stakes commercial discussions and securing mutually beneficial outcomes across complex partnership agreements
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
- Strategic thinking - demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective commercial and partnership strategies aligned with business objectives
- Partnership management - track record of building, managing, and scaling successful partnerships, particularly in fast-paced and evolving industries
- Telco expertise - in-depth understanding of mobile networks, including MNOs, MVNOs, and Telco operations, with a focus on commercial models and market dynamic
- Commercial leadership - experience in leading cross-functional commercial initiatives, pricing, go-to-market strategies, and revenue growth
