The role of an experienced Analytics Manager will sit within the Analytics team and will work closely with the Head of Commercial Analytics, Head of Decision Sciences, onshore and offshore BI teams, 3rd party providers and other sources.  

 

Role overview:

 

 

 

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

 

•    Lead deployment of specific analytics projects and initiatives – e.g. growth of customer service agreements, development of store segmentation, small and big box delivery forecasting, drivers of online conversion, omnichannel conversion optimisation, product attribute analytics and range optimisation, etc.
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
•    Stakeholder management: build relationships with business teams, understand their requirements, and drive collaborative way of working with colleagues in the data analytics community 
•    Gather business requirements and translate them into a scope for a data analytics solution
•    Working with senior colleagues, develop an approach and a detailed plan for the delivery of the solution 
•    Lead the delivery of an analytical solution. This will include hands on technical work as well as providing support and leadership to junior members of the team (both UK and off-shore)
•    Test and peer review work produced by colleagues in the team 
•    Contribute to knowledge sharing by presenting at team meetings and internal forums, contributing to the knowledge code library, sharing best practice and promoting the work delivered by the data analytics team across the Currys
•    Recruit and develop analytical talent across the business
•    Strengthen relationships with leading institutions

 

The purpose of this role is to manage and deliver a variety of data analytics projects from start to finish. This can range from developing small analytics solutions to inform specific business questions to working as a part of a team on complex data science projects. Cross-functional delivery will require collaboration and co-ordination of response involving several teams across the business.

 

 

 

You will need:

 

•    Excellent problem-solving skills - able to break down complex problems into core components; identify key drivers of performance and change; link back into wider business context
•    Strategic thinker – able to understand the business challenges and opportunities these provide
•    Understand core analytical techniques; highly numerate and financially literate
•    Able to communicate data and insight easily to various functions at all levels of the business – ability to distil findings at the appropriate level for the audience 
•    Ability to work with stakeholders across the business at all levels. 
•    Ability to prioritise multiple conflicting requests and communicate reasons why to stakeholders  
•    Understanding of how to manage external suppliers / off-shore teams /internal teams.
•    Can develop/ inspire confidence / loyalty within junior members; mentor junior members of the team in the delivery of data analytics projects
•    Calm under pressure; detail oriented; pragmatic; self-aware
•    Experience CPG or Retail sector
