Waterloo - Hybrid Working
Full Time

Grade 6

At Currys we’re united by one passion: to help everyone enjoy amazing technology. As the UK’s best-known retailer of tech, we’re proud of the service our customers receive – and it’s all down to our team of 25,000 caring and committed colleagues. Working as one team, we learn and grow together, celebrating the big and small moments that make every day amazing.

We’re on a mission to strengthen how customers connect with Currys: before, during, and after every purchase. In this role, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we build long-term value from every customer interaction. From increasing our customer understanding, to developing our loyalty proposition, and increasing engagement through use of data, this high-impact role sits at the heart of our customer data strategy. You will build the technical foundations to help our teams succeed.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

•    Own and evolve our customer data architecture, from collecting and conforming through to enrichment and activation.
•    Lead the product roadmap for our Customer Data Platform (CDP), working with stakeholders including technology, commercial, retail, digital, and marketing.
•    Empower functions to develop and maintain customer audiences and segments to power digital marketing, CRM, loyalty, and retail media use cases.
•    Shape the product roadmap for Currys’ loyalty programme, creating a meaningful customers proposition which enriches our customer understanding in turn.
•    Activate focused consenting efforts to ensure we meet our regulatory requirements and can create meaningful group-wide cross brand experiences.
•    Collaborate with marketing, commercial, and technology teams to embed loyalty across the customer lifecycle and channels.
•    Support monetisation efforts through Currys Connected Media by informing proposition development and go-to-market with high-quality audience insights.
•    Act as a thought leader within the organisation, inspiring our colleagues to put customer first and create meaningful customer experiences.

We would be looking for someone with significant experience in customer data strategy, loyalty, digital marketing, or monetisation and within retail or omnichannel environments.

You will need:

•    Deep expertise in first-party data, customer lifecycle management, and audience segmentation, ideally within a multi-entity group, with demonstrated marketing efficiency expertise
•    Strong technical knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP with hands-on experience in building and activating customer data assets with SQL and Python
•    Proven ability to lead and collaborate with customer, engineering, marketing, and digital teams to deliver customer data products on time, to scope, and on budget
•    Hands-on experience implementing a Customer Data Platform at an enterprise scale and driving personalisation and marketing use cases off the back of this
•    Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of how customer data and loyalty capabilities drive marketing efficiencies and commercial outcomes
•    Demonstrated leadership with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly across multiple countries and cultures
•    Ideally, combination of experience both in commercial (ideally, P&L ownership) and technical roles (ideally, platform ownership), and the ability to translate between those two worlds.
•    Ability to manage and challenge best-of-breed digital technology vendors
