With a mixture of in-person and hybrid working, we are looking for someone to make amazing things happen within our team.


The eCommerce Merchandiser will have responsibility for optimizing and maintaining the currys.ie website along with maintaining the online product range while bringing a commercial focus to all web activities.

Role overview:

 

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

 

  • Optimizing www.currys.ie Homepage and Category landing pages using analytical tools and onsite merchandising functionality
  • Executing key promotions across all areas of the website. This includes structured homepage designs, banner placement, supplier content and discount codes
  • Ownership of the online product range including setup of new lines, maintenance, removal of end of lifelines, pricing & info updates as well as any other reactive changes required
  • Guardian of the forward orders process online. Ensure this is updated daily with correct stock count and range
  • Bringing a commercial focus to all web activities to maximise the impact of the online sales channel. This must be reflected in the site look and feel
  • Ad hoc creation of site assets including banners (Adode Photoshop) and page templates (Amplience)
  • Analysing analytics data to identify and action UX improvements
  • Must be a customer experience advocate by identifying any potential promotional blockers to the customer transacting online
  • Collaborating cross functionally with other internal departments including marketing, commercial, supply chain etc. to plan and deliver product launches and promotions
  • Reporting on promotional campaigns post execution. i.e. Learnings for next period
  • Support function for the web operations team for onsite customer escalations and any queries directed at the commercial team
  • Working with trading and acquisition teams to drive sales whilst managing margin within agreed envelopes
  • Ensuring navigation and search are optimised to ensure key products and events are easy to find
  • Researching our competitors to ensure our propositions are attractive vs market
  • Working with SEO colleagues to optimise product and category content for SEO
  • Ensuring product imagery, descriptions and energy labels are correct, complete, in line with manufacturers’ guidelines (where applicable) and optimised for consumption by your customer
  • Be the online lead for key handset launches, liaising with trading, marketing, ecommerce and acquisition
  • To manage promotions and ensure pricing, promo tags and strikethroughs are displaying correctly
  • Reporting technical and UX issues and support with new development release testing

 

You will need:

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an eCommerce function
  • Content management system (CMS) experience
  • HTML and Photoshop skills are required
  • Extensive merchandising experience. Know what works best for customers and conversion
  • To be confident with Analytics applications and to be able to derive actionable insights
  • Proficiency in excel is a must
  • To understand the business, customers and strong product knowledge
  • Display a genuine interest in technology and eCommerce. Be an early adopter in terms of gaining knowledge of industry innovations
  • Ambitious, self-motivated and brings a passion to the role every day
  • Problem solving and the will to find resolutions is an absolute must
  • BA or Master level degree preferable
